Alan Spiegelberg was co-captain and running back of the '62 Oberlin football team. By the end of his career he had established 14 offensive school records and had kicked nine goals. A versatile player who could play both halfback and fullback positions, Spiegelberg still holds the records for most touchdowns in a single season (12) and career (32). Retired grid coach Bill Grice calls him " the best running back I ever coached. He was a slashing runner with great desire and he also had a tremendous attitude."
