David Eisner '69
David is the Director of the Premedical Studies Program at the University of Georgia. Prior to that, he was a Special Duty Officer in Information Warfare for the United States Navy. Then, he attended medical school.Â
David only recently gave up swimming, having competed as a masters swimmer on a national level. Hiking and canoeing keep him in shape now.
His dedication to Oberlin Athletics and the Heisman Club board are motived by a commitment that ensures current athletes have the same opportunities that he had as an OC athlete. As an MD, he firmly believes in the importance of physical activity for mental and physical wellbeing. And, he wants us to win!
Winning is important to David. One of his fondest Oberlin memories is from the days of Crane Pool. David anchored the last leg of a medley relay that defeated Ohio Wesleyan and gave Oberlin an undefeated dual meet season.
David's reflection: " I was really clueless about training. As a master swimmer, I earned two national top 10 times in the 1500m freestyle."
