Track Teams Honored for Academic Success by the USTFCCCA

New Orleans – The Oberlin College men's and women's track and field teams were both named as All-Academic Teams, while six individuals were also honored, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Tuesday.

The Yeowomen were one of 148 NCAA Division III teams to earn the prestige, while the Yeomen were one of 80 men's teams on the list. The Oberlin females compiled a yearlong team GPA of 3.40, while the Oberlin men checked in at 3.26. To be eligible for the award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.10.

Earning individual recognition as All-Academic athletes were Sophia Brancazio (3.79), Katrina Gelwick (3.33), Emma Lehmann (3.52), Molly Martorella (3.86), Margaret Miller (3.67) and Alex Guo (3.66).

To achieve All-Academic status, an athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 and meet one of the following standards. Either compete in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finish the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or top 25 in a relay event.
