Westlake, Ohio – Oberlin College freshman tennis player Callan Louis was named as the North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, the league office announced on Thursday.
 
Louis, a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, was also tabbed as a All-NCAC Second-Team selection.  
 
The rookie started the year playing at No. 4 singles, but was quickly elevated to three where he played three matches and went 3-0. He then moved his way into the second flight where he again went 3-0.
 
Seeing the continued growth of Louis as the season progressed, first-year Head Coach Eric Ishida then inserted him into the top singles spot for the final 15 matches of the season.
 
All in all he finished with 15 wins in singles play and was also a part of 12 victories in doubles.
