Oberlin Athletics Announces New Media Partnerships

Stretch Game Portal l Oberlin's Rush Homepage

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College Athletics Department is pleased to announce new partnerships with Stretch Internet and The RUSH.

Stretch Internet is the new online video streaming provider for the athletics department and will allow end-users to view our athletics teams in action on a variety of platforms, including mobile devices. In addition, most games throughout the season will be broadcasted simultaneously in both high-definition and standard-definition, meaning users with slower internet connections should no longer suffer from buffering issues. If you can watch a Youtube video, you should be able to watch our streams seamlessly.

In the fall we will be broadcasting men's and women's soccer, football, volleyball and for the first time select field hockey games. In the winter, all men's and women's basketball games and swimming and diving meets will be streamed live and in the spring time fans will be able to watch men's and women's lacrosse as well as select baseball and softball games.

“We are pleased to begin working with Stretch Internet,” Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications Mike Mancini said. “We will now be able to reach even more viewers across the world. With such a large geographic footprint at Oberlin, I am truly excited to provide such a top-notch service to our fans, parents and alumni around the globe.”

The complete schedule of streams can be found on our official Game Central portal here.

In addition to our partnership with Stretch, we are also excited about working with The RUSH. The RUSH software will be used to provide live in-game highlights for men's and women's soccer and football games in the fall, and men's and women's basketball games in the winter.

The RUSH allows us to capture highlights live and instantly upload them online to our official facebook and twitter pages, as well as our Rush homepage. IPhone and IPad users can also download the free My RUSH App to follow their favorite teams and players and instantly be notified when highlights are added. Fans and parents also have the option of storing their favorite highlights in their “locker” or create complete highlight reel at season's end.

“I think our fans will be really excited when they see what The RUSH can do,” Mancini added. “Our athletes will also benefit from this partnership as they too will be able to go back and watch all of the highlights from the games they just played in and share the videos with their families and friends via social media.”

Oberlin football fans should also note that we have once again renewed our partnership with AM-1320 WOBL to broadcast all 10 football games on the radio. The broadcasts will also be streamed live online on loraincounty.com.

The 2012-13 season starts Friday night with men's soccer hosting Geneva at 7 p.m.
