Winkelfoos Appointed Interim Delta Lodge Director of Athletics and Physical Education

Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College President Marvin Krislov has announced the appointment of Natalie Winkelfoos as interim Delta Lodge Director of Athletics and Physical Education.

Winkelfoos, who has been on staff with the athletics department in various positions since 2005, had been serving as the associate director of athletics for development and alumni affairs since June of 2010. She previously served as co-interim director of athletics from December 2010 through June 2011.

Tasked with managing projects and relationships that generate support for Oberlin College's division of athletics and physical education, Winkelfoos has excelled in this role as the number of athletics donors and gifts have increased every year since she began managing the John W. Heisman Club fundraising campaign.

“I feel very fortunate to be working with the great people and alumni of Oberlin College,” said Winkelfoos. “This is a special community that I am privileged to be part of. I look forward to collaborating with the entire staff to build on the successes of the past few years while in this interim position.”

In addition to her daily interaction with Oberlin's alumni base, Winkelfoos oversees the athletics department's special events and external relations and is the senior women's administrator.

"We have benefited from Natalie's leadership before,” President Krislov said. “I have great confidence that she will do a fine job."

A former National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III athlete, Winkelfoos was a four-year letter winner on the Baldwin-Wallace College basketball team. A two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) selection, she is the school's all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage. During her career, she helped lead the Yellow Jackets to two conference titles and three appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

A native of Bucyrus, Ohio, she graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 2003 and earned a master's degree in higher education administration and student personnel at Kent State University in 2005.

She is replacing William Roth, who resigned from his post as Delta Lodge Director of Athletics in June.

A national search for Oberlin's next athletics director will commence in the fall of 2012.
